On 14 January 2025 at 6 p.m., this year’s Captain’s Evening 2026 of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Marketing & Sales at FH CAMPUS 02 took place. The evening centred around Angelika Pretterhofera graduate of FH CAMPUS 02 and now, together with her husband, a successful owner and shareholder of Waldpark HochreiterIn her role as Captain, she returned to her alma mater and offered students valuable insights into her company and her personal career journey.
Insights into Waldpark Hochreiter
The evening began with a concise introduction to Waldpark Hochreiter. Angelika Pretterhofer addressed key topics ranging from figures and facts to the company’s philosophy and the particular challenges of running an experience‑oriented nature business. Playful forest knowledge, close interaction with animals, a cozy atmosphere, and an innovative spirit despite strong ties to nature characterize the Waldpark just as much as weather‑dependent conditions, limited accessibility without public transport, and an investment‑intensive business model in which experiences often have a shorter lifespan than loans. The presentation concluded with an outlook on the company’s future goals.
Personal Insights and Open Q&A Session
Afterwards, product managers Eva Koban-Röß and Doris Carini conducted an interview with Angelika Pretterhofer. The conversation focused on both her professional career and her role as an entrepreneur. During the subsequent Q&A session, the students took the opportunity to ask their Captain and project client in-depth questions and gained valuable, practice-oriented insights.
Creative Solutions for a Real Business Challenge
Another highlight of the evening was the Making-Of-Videos videos created by the student teams, offering exciting insights into the two-day working process of the Business Challenge. Within just two days, the students were tasked with solving an assignment defined by the Captain: the full-time students developed a marketing strategy to increase awareness of Chipsithe first fully automated chips-making robot. In parallel, the part-time students worked on concrete proposals for a sales strategy.
The results were prepared in the form of posters and presented at the Captain’s Evening.
Highlight: Poster Presentation and Award Ceremony
The highlight of the evening was the poster presentation. Each group presented its ideas and explained their concepts to the audience as well as to the other teams. Afterwards, all attendees were able to cast their votes before the best posters were formally awarded.
Closing with Networking
To conclude the Captain’s Evening, the focus shifted to networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, students, lecturers, and guests took the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss the presented concepts, and establish new connections.
