Five months of practical experience, lots of new experiences, and a behind-the-scenes look at an innovative company: I am Bettina Allmer, 22 years old, and I am studying Marketing & Sales in my 6th semester at FH CAMPUS 02. I was able to do my internship in the marketing team of RINGANA – a company that stands not only for sustainable products but also for exciting challenges and genuine teamwork.
In this post, I take you along in my internship routine and share my highlights and learnings.
How did you find your internship?
Even at the thought of the internship, one thing was immediately clear to me: I wanted to do it at RINGANA . The company’s headquarters are only a short drive from my hometown, and the company had fascinated me for a long time – especially because of its strong growth in recent years and its consistently sustainable orientation.
The company RINGANA
RINGANA has been producing fresh cosmetics and natural dietary supplements for over 25 years – completely vegan, free from harmful substances, and with a holistic environmentally conscious approach. For me, it was incredibly exciting to be part of a company that doesn't just use sustainability as a marketing buzzword, but truly lives it.
What tasks did you take on during the internship?
During my internship, I worked in the marketing department and had the opportunity to get a glimpse into different teams. My tasks were as varied as they were exciting: I designed and planned newsletters, accompanied the campaign process, created content for social media, and supported CRM activities. Trend research was also on the agenda – including desk research on potential expansion countries and benchmark analyses in e-commerce.
Describe a typical day in your internship:
There was hardly a fixed daily routine, and that was exactly what made the internship so exciting. I did have regularly recurring tasks, such as creating and sending newsletters, but there were always new, exciting activities to take on. Sometimes I helped prepare a livestream, sometimes I contributed to social media videos, and I even appeared in front of the camera myself. The work was extremely varied and offered a lot of room for creativity.
Which tools or programs have you worked with (e.g., Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads…)?
I mainly worked with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere. This was particularly exciting because these programs are hardly covered in university. All the more, I appreciated being able to acquire new skills here.
Was there a personal highlight during your internship?
A special moment was implementing my own newsletter campaign. I was able to be involved in the entire process: from the initial idea to writing and designing, all the way to sending it out. Seeing my own content being sent to a large audience was a real highlight.
Were there situations where you had to step out of your comfort zone?
Of course, there were moments when I had to step out of my comfort zone. For example, during desk research for new markets or when creating my first social media video. At first, I was often unsure – am I doing this right? – but I learned to trust my gut and just go for it. An important experience that will continue to help me in the future.
Was there something where you thought, 'Good thing we covered this at the university of applied sciences'?
The knowledge I gained from the Project Management course was invaluable. Especially when planning and executing various projects, tools for scheduling, task allocation, and prioritization helped me stay on top of things—particularly during intense phases when many tasks were running in parallel.
What would you advise someone who also wants to do a marketing internship?
Be open to new tasks, get actively involved, and don't be afraid to ask questions or contribute your own ideas. Especially in marketing, initiative and creativity are in demand and highly valued.
Has the internship influenced or confirmed your career plans?
The internship helped me get to know my strengths better and to recognize in which areas I see myself professionally and in which rather not. It was a valuable guide for my future career.
What happens next for you?
After I graduate, I will start working at RINGANA as a Content Manager. An exciting role that I am really looking forward to.
