Basics in Corporate Finance

The university course ‘Basics in Corporate Finance’ ensures the acquisition of basic skills in the business disciplines of investment and financing. In the area of short-term corporate management, graduates learn the key instruments of working capital management. In addition to theoretical knowledge, graduates train in the application of the instruments by implementing or analysing the implementation in their own or selected companies

Contents & focus areas

The programme focuses in particular on the following topics:

  • Selection of favourable investment alternatives
  • Making financing decisions
  • Coordination of financing with the life phase of the company
  • Liquidity management through working capital management

The entire course comprises 4 ECTS credits (32 units). The assessment is as follows:

  • Online exam
  • Project work
