Digitalization is transforming all sectors of the economy, with platforms and digital ecosystems in particular increasingly shaping business models, consumer behavior, and value creation processes. While leading companies often originate in the US and Asia, Europe is comparatively cautious, which is sometimes referred to as the “European platform gap.”
Against this backdrop, the Josef Ressel Center for Platforms and Digital Ecosystems is dedicated to the economic aspects of these business models. Together with three corporate partners, the center aims to analyze consumer-centric and sustainable concepts on a scientific basis and derive practical insights that help to make better use of digital opportunities.
The think tank is a central pillar of research and development at the Department of Marketing and Sales and is dedicated to the topic of the digital economy and the associated core disciplines: strategy, marketing, and sales. Its goal is to be a pioneer, trailblazer, and source of ideas and knowledge for science and industry.
