Practising sustainability is not just the law, it is an indispensable part of our future!

The demands placed on corporate sustainability work by the law, customers and all other stakeholders can no longer be met by a single department within the company. This university course provides a compact overview of the broad field of corporate sustainability work - from what the law requires to the opportunities offered by corporate sustainability in practice.

What you can expect from the university course

Contents & focus

After completing this university course, they will be familiar with the relevant requirements for corporate sustainability work and gain an insight into corporate sustainability management.

  • Requirements for sustainability work in the company (law, national level as well as EU, banks, employees, society and other stakeholders)
  • Framework conditions for sustainability (Agendas 2030 & 2050, SDGs)
  • Gradual introduction of the guidelines by 2028
  • Implementation of sustainability in the organisation (from task definition to process thinking; minimum requirements: when granting loans, contribution to competitiveness, relevant documents and records for the audit)
  • Opportunities for companies from sustainability work

Part-time

Duration: 1.5 days in presence and 2 half days online

24 Lehreinheiten davon ca. 50% Online-Unterricht

Costs

For participation in the university course: EUR 890,- (VAT exempt according to UStG)

incl. digital documents + refreshments during breaks 

Completion: Certificate of attendance for the university course ‘Sustainability Management Update Compact’

Who is this continuing education for?

This training programme is aimed at

  • Anyone in the company who wants to deal with sustainability
  • Designated Sustainability Manager
  • Assistants to the management
  • All persons in companies who are entrusted with management tasks
  • People who will assume management responsibility in the foreseeable future

Prerequisites

This involves 75 hours of work.

This university course ‘Sustainability Controlling Compact’ is part of several modular continuing education programmes. If you wish, you can also complete further, more in-depth university courses and certificate programmes on the broad subject area of corporate sustainability work. Individual university courses can be combined into three different certificate qualifications and/or several university courses and certificate programmes up to the completion of the academic course ‘Sustainability Management’.

If you have completed all sustainability management programmes by October 2027 at the latest, you will be awarded the title of ‘Academic Sustainability Manager’.
