Shooting end ‘Internship, the film - Part 21

The leap from the lecture theatre into practice is one of the most exciting events at CAMPUS 02 UAS, and an important component of this is the work placement. Bachelor's students on the Accounting & Controlling degree programme must complete an internship of at least 12 weeks by the 6th semester. Part-time students have the opportunity to have their relevant work experience recognised.

The class of 2021 is now about to graduate. At the beginning of June 2024, the students presented their experiences, impressions and learnings from their internships in an evening cinema session with popcorn and soft drinks. Their task was to report on the internships they had successfully completed in videos they had made themselves. They talked about their work in tax consultancy, auditing, accounting and controlling in industry and commerce, finance and the social economy.

Why the whole thing? Firstly, the video serves as a final assessment for the internship. But it is just as important to offer the following year's intake valuable tips and tricks first-hand from the ‘seniors’.

At the video premieres, programme director Peter Meiregger and transfer coordinator René Thaller also welcomed Florian Huber and Georg Streicher from the tax consultancy firm Fidas in Graz. The two reported on their experiences, the process and, above all, the value that the internship now has for the recruitment of their firm and other companies from the perspective of an organisation that provides internships. A recent survey by the Department of Accounting & Controlling shows that more than 80% of students leave the internship with a job offer in their pocket!

The two tax consultants thanked the lecturers for providing them with highly trained students. The survey confirmed that 100% (!) of the companies would hire interns from the programme again.

The students of the class of 2021 made perfect use of the skills they acquired in the lecture theatre and represented themselves and their university professionally.
