Automation Technology

Research & Development

As an established research partner for the industry, the Department Automation Technology boasts extensive expertise in the field of mechatronics. The results achieved through collaboration with industry partners are supported by scientific research and development activities. This approach allows for the continuous acquisition and expansion of knowledge that goes far beyond mere contract work. Through this method, a significant contribution is made to the successful implementation or archievement of objectives, particularly in innovative developments with at least partially unknown boundary conditions.

To support businesses in implementing projects in the high-tech sector, there are numerous funding oppurtunities available. The research & development team at CAMPUS 02 UAS, in collaboration with the coordination team for R&D at Department Automation Technology, is responsible for managing funding applications and offers advisory and support services to businesses seeking funding opportunities.

The Department Automation Technology regards itself as a trend scout in the field of technology. Innovative technologies and new methods are continuously investigated, evaluated and further developed. The resulting findings and insights are made available to industry on the one hand and are directly incorporated into teaching on the other.

Research and development projects are primarily carried out by full-time faculty and research assistants. Parts of these projects are theoretically and practically addressed through student projects, as well as bachelor's and master's theses, to establish a direct connection to real-world projects. The simultaneous operation of R&D and teaching ensures that current topics and issues - both from SMBs and industrial companies - are continuously integrated into the design and focus of the curriculum.

Companies will find a partner in the R&D team of the Department Automation Technology who understands the needs of the industry, monitors economic development trends, and develops practical concepts and solutions accordingly.
