Applications in industry or smart homes increasingly rely on the Internet of Things (IoT). This course provides the necessary fundamentals, from sensor technology and transmission techniques to cloud processing. Practical examples with hands-on activities deepen the theoretical content.

Content and focus

The content of the on-site courses of this academic course is composed of the key areas listed below. Additionally, the independent preparation and review of course materials outside of class hours is part of the course.

  • Verständnis für Sensorik und maschinelles Sehen
  • Anwendung und Integration von Schnittstellen und Bussysteme
  • Nutzung verschiedener Funktechnologien im IoT-Umfeld
  • Entwicklung und Einsatz mobiler und eingebetteter Systeme
  • Nutzung von Cloudtechnologien zur Datenverarbeitung
  • Analyse und Auswertung von gewonnenen Daten
  • Einschätzung von Potenzialen für mögliche KI-Unterstützung
  • Praktische Umsetzung von IoT-Lösungen mit Hard- und Software im Software Engineering & Control Technology Lab
