Not only are our students eager to learn, but our educators also strive for continuous professional development in the spirit of lifelong learning. Therefore, in September, not only does the new semester begin for many new and "established" students, but our lecturers will also embark on a new training programme at CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences.
We have evaluated our in-house training programme and held numerous discussions with our educators to optimise the internal workshop offerings and better align them with the needs of teaching staff. The result is a new, modular training and development programme that introduces new lecturers to the topic of higher education didactics step by step at the beginning of their academic careers. It also offers experienced educators workshops on current topics and meets lecturers from various backgrounds where they currently are.
What does this programme look like now?
Advanced Didactics Practitioner
New lecturers are invited to become an "Advanced Didactics Practitioner" in the winter semester – in this modular series, they will complete our foundational training in didactics and engage with the principles of higher education didactics, the teaching and learning methods employed at CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences, the didactically motivated use of media, and the various forms of assessment. Last but not least, they will also deliver a teaching presentation in front of an audience.
Digital Education Practitioner
For all those who wish to engage with the use of digital media in teaching, we highly recommend the training to become a "Digital Education Practitioner" – the individual workshops in this programme focus on the learning platform Moodle, the Office 365 ecosystem, giving and receiving digital feedback, and creating videos and screencasts.
All workshops in both programmes can also be attended individually – those who successfully complete all modules as well as a final project for each programme will receive a certificate.
Anyone who has completed the programme for Advanced Didactics Practitioner and the training for Digital Education Practitioner is a DIDACTICS EXPERT of CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences.
But that's not all! For experienced educators, we also offer training to become an "Educational Coach" and a "Didactics Pioneer" – the workshops in these programmes are regularly updated, respond to current developments in the field of higher education didactics, and are tailored to the needs of our lecturers.
Educational Coach
The training to become an "Educational Coach" focuses not only on didactic but also on social skills. The following workshops will be offered in the academic year 2024/25:
- Successfully navigating difficult teaching situations
- Engaging and motivating students
- Gen Z – How do our students tick?
Didactics Pioneer
Anyone wishing to become a "Didactics Pioneer 2024/25" should be interested in "Teaching with AI Tools" and "Assessment in the Age of ChatGPT and Co," as these are the topics of the two workshops in this training, which will be held in an Inverted Classroom format.
All workshops in both programmes can also be attended individually – if all modules and a final project for each programme are successfully completed, participants will receive a certificate.
Anyone who has completed all the workshops and can also present a project or teaching project may call themselves a SENIOR DIDACTICS EXPERT of CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences. This will certainly be celebrated appropriately!
All workshops are, of course, free for lecturers of CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences – you can find more information as well as the respective registration links here: In-house Offers – Centre for Higher Education Didactics (campus02.at)
