Research & Development

Mission statement

CAMPUS 02 also reflects the needs of the industry in the field of research and development. R&D at CAMPUS 02 stands for problem- solving skills, structured and analytical models and an innovative approach at a scientific level.

Results from methodological research pave the way for new problem-solving techniques whilst being beneficial to the industry – both directly through projects with companies and indirectly via their inclusion in the programmes that we teach.

Thanks to our network with universities and research establishments, CAMPUS 02 is involved in an extensive range of research programmes.

It follows that our R&D mission statement encompasses the following aims:

• PROBLEM-SOLVING FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES (SME)

• SCIENTIFIC PROJECT SUPPORT WITH AND FOR INNOVATIVE COMPANIES

• PARTICIPATION IN COOPERATIVE RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

R&D with and for companies

Through our close collaboration with the industry, new topics for research and development activities continuously arise.

Innovative approaches to enhance competitive capacity are of utmost importance.

Within the framework of Automation Technology degree programme projects, measuring station automation applications are realised, as well as automation technology solutions covering all aspects from the design to the production of prototypes. Reliability tests for electronic components are designed, whilst solutions for mechanical engineering are developed using simulation techniques.

As a development partner of Styrian companies, the main skill areas taught by the Information Technologies and Business Informatics department focus on service engineering, a young, interdisciplinary research domain geared to the systematic development and design of product-supporting and/or IT-based services, the so-called “Smart Services”. The application of a field-proven process model and selected method sets bring the advantage of immediate commercial use, together with the targeted generating of competitive advantages and a reduction in time and money spent on development.

The major research areas in Accounting & Controlling deal with analyses of the legal and politicoeconomic framework of Austria as a business location, key questions regarding financial accounting and new developments in controlling.

The specialist area of International Marketing & Sales Management investigates and develops methods in the pivotal areas of customer behaviour and the measuring of customer behaviour. The influence of modern marketing instruments on customer behaviour should be brought to an ascertainable and measurable level.

Systematic innovations in small and medium-sized companies, as well as the generating of optimal support possibilities for individual inventors in their innovation processes, form the central research themes in the area of Innovation Management.

The “Innolab” project – a start-up centre and support platform for companies and individuals in the process of implementing their ideas – presents the basis of research and provides relevant data and fundamental information.
