Lydia Maria Kutil awarded a scholarship prize by IVA/Aktienforum
What do the legal representatives and members of the boards of directors of Austrian companies subject to statutory audits actually expect from an audit report?
Lydia Maria Kutil looked at the practical use of audit reports for report addressees, and their expectations in terms of content and scope, during an empirical study carried out at CAMPUS 02 in collaboration with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. An Austria-wide team analysed information gathered from audit reports during the course of 93 expert interviews. The collated results were brought together and presented in her 2008 diploma thesis entitled “Information content and informative value of audit reports for addressees”.
In February 2009, her work was awarded the main prize for the best diploma thesis of 2008 covering the themes of investor protection, corporate governance and Austria’s capital market by the IVA (Austrian Investors’ Association) and Aktienforum (the body representing the interests of Austrian companies listed on the stock exchange). The award was presented by Wilhelm Rasinger, President of IVA.
